Who we are?

Formaggioteca, conceived by the couple Rebecca & Pierre Gouttenoire, inaugurated its doors in March 2021.

Pierre, a seasoned French winemaker with over 15 years of experience across diverse regions in France, joined forces with Rebecca, originally from Denmark but now a Tuscany resident for life, where her passion for exceptional cuisine blossomed.

Having collaborated for a considerable period, especially in promoting the world of wine through their agency Grape Tours, they guided inquisitive individuals through the discovery of Tuscany and other captivating locales in Italy and France. Their strong personal connection to the territories was further reinforced by enduring partnerships.

With the establishment of Formaggioteca Terroir, Rebecca became a member of ONAF (National Organization of Cheese Tasters), while Pierre embarked on a venture in cheese refining within the cellars of an ancient farm in Chianti Classico, Campo Sasso.

Acknowledgments

• In 2021 Formaggioteca Terroir was selected as one of the best cheese shops in Italy by Il Golosario (and again in 2023).

 

• Also in 2023 we won the Il Forchettiere award for best gastronomy in Florence.

​

• La Formaggioteca is a Slow Food Friendly Local as the selection of products largely reflects "good, clean and fair" food.

​

• Formaggioteca Terroir won the "Oscar" of the Italian Cheese Awards in Ancona in 2023 as Cheese Bar of the Year.
